Copyright

Please keep in mind that many images are protected by copyright.  Check a site's terms of use before reusing an image.  

Unless an image falls within the public domain or the intended use of the image qualifies as fair use, you will need to obtain permission from the copyright owner.

Public Domain:  Not protected by copyright and may be used without asking for permission  CCO:  Dedicated to the public domain

Fair Use:  Legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed  use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances

    ​Select "Images" on the left to limit results
  • CINAHL
    ​From the CINAHL home page, click on "More" at top of page, then choose "Images."  
    Be sure to uncheck "Map to Subject Headings" when doing topic search.
  • PubMedCentral

    earch for topic,then select "Images" on the right side of the page.  Select individual images to view copyright restrictions.
