Athens is an authentication system that provides access to multiple online resources with a single user name and password.
Athens provides access to resources anytime, anywhere, from any computer with an Internet connection.
With Athens, users may get to online databases, books and journals. Popular resources include: EBSCO, CINAHL, Medline, AccessMedicine and Banner's A to Z journal list.
Complete the Athens registration form. After review, an activation code will be sent to you by e-mail. Note that it may take up to 3 business days for your account to be created. Incomplete forms may delay processing.
If you use Banner's VPN connection, there are only rare instances in which Athens would give additional access to journal content. IT coordinates access for physicians and staff who have work requirements to connect to the network from home.

If you remember your Athens user name and the e-mail address associated with your Athens account, you may reset your password here. HINT: All user names start with AHI.

Athens is now designed so that your e-mail address may be used in place of your user name.
The Athens website is https://my.openathens.net. You may also login from the library website.
Many individual resources have a login area for Athens users as well. Look for a "My Athens" link by the site's main login box.
To save searches in OVID and EBSCO, you will need to follow the instructions on the screen to set up a personal account. We suggest that you register with your Athens login information for easy recall.
Reminder: passwords are case sensitive.
You may have lost your login information by opening a new browser session. You are only authenticated in the browser session that you used to log in. Opening a new browser session by clicking on the browser icon requires you to log in again. When you switch to a different publisher's site, click on its "MyAthens" link for your account to be recognized.
You found the resource through Google or another search engine and tried to log in using an Athens link. It may have failed because we do not have a subscription to the resource, or may not have it in electronic format. If you would like the item, please contact your librarian.
Your Athens account will not work with UpToDate. For remote access, visit UpToDate while you are on campus to create a free personal account. To keep it active, log on with your account using a Banner computer at a Banner location at least once every three months. This enables you to use UpToDate on any device.
