Banner Health Library Services staff and Nurses, Advanced Practice Practitioners, and Nurse Researchers are real close pals. We empower each other to realize our shared goals and systemwide initiatives. What can we say?: we're big on collaboration. Our work becomes exponentially more meaningful in partnership with you. Everyone needs the friend who will be your cheerleader and hype you up to realize how awesome and capable you really are. That's us! We're the friend.
In November of 2022, library services team member, Erin, was asked to do one of the things she loves to do most: write for a meaningful cause. In this case, she was asked to communicate how libraries support the Magnet journey at Banner. Collaborating with her team to capture the most essential nuggets of wisdom for this endeavor, she wrote up some talking-points for use at a mock magnet appraisal (and later the real thing!). Aforementioned talking points provide a concise description of the supportive services and resources libraries leverage to support our Magnet journey.

Notably, nurses and nurse researchers are particularly active users of systemwide library resources and services available both on-site and off-site through a single sign-on system. They request full-text article delivery services and library training and orientation for both non-clinical and front-line staff. This user population also requests mediated literature search services to support implementation of Evidence-Based Practice and Research projects.
Library staff participate in two multi-site groups, the Research and Evidence-based Practice Committee (Phoenix) and Research & Innovation Council (Tucson) in support of the ANCC Magnet Model and promote a “Spirit of Inquiry”. Recently, Clinical Research Program Directors and Librarians partnered to develop an institutional repository called "Nursing EBP, Research, Projects & Dissemination" to document and share research endeavors for an internal audience at Banner.
